The Tides

The highest tides in the world.

The Bay of Fundy narrows and shallows as it reaches inland, funnelling a vast volume of seawater into the Minas Basin. The result is the greatest tidal range on earth.

Twice a day the sea retreats, leaving miles of red seafloor to walk, then returns over roughly six hours. Ask us for the tide table during your stay; timing a walk to low tide is part of the pleasure.
